Greased Lightning for sale
(Hits: 82)
Know of any group considering doing Grease in the future? I'm wanting to sell the car that I purchased for Beechmont Players 06-07 season production of Grease. For those who didn't see it, the car received a lot of positive comments during our production, and at the SW regional and state competitions. The car is an actual car, not a wood mock-up or a golf cart. It is an 1950's Morris 1000 (aka Morris Minor). It's a British car that basically looks like a 3/4 scale 1940's American car. It's a rolling shell, with no engine, transmission and only minimal interior. I cut the roof off and removed all of the glass for the production but still have it if you wanted it for some reason. It has a one piece removable grill/front bumper that I fabricated, as well as removable magnetic vinyl decals, and push on/off headlights for the "transformation" of the car. The car is very light and is easily pushed and stopped by one person. We were very limited on space for our production, and like most groups, had a limited budget, which is why I specfically looked for one of these. It fits through a standard 6' double-door opening and is just under 12' long. It is painted flat black (easily touched-up) with red steel wheels.

Now it is an old car that wasn't worth restoring when I bought it, and there are a few things that will probably need attention some day, but the car worked flawlessly for us and withstood a lot of abuse from actors jumping in and out, and on and off of it.

I can send photos of the car if anyone is interested, and can help with delivery if needed (car is in Cincinnati, OH). The car has minimal value as a "car" any more, but is great for this role if you are limited on space and dollars like we were. I'm only looking to get what I paid for the car, and hopefully when the next group is done with it, they can resell it to another home as well.

Please let me know if you are interested, or know of anyone who might be, or if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Vernon Burns
